Mood Charts - List of Several
The Balanced Mind Foundation recommends that parents keep a daily chart of their child's mood, sleep, energy, medications, psychotherapy sessions, and statements or events of concern. Over time, this chart becomes a valuable record that can be extremely helpful to professionals, parents, and (as the child matures) the child themselves.
Instructions for Kimberly's Mood Chart
I created this weekly mood chart in Microsoft Excel (see Sample Chart link below). You will need access to a color printer. It is a chart that relates moods to colors of ink. It is divided into 3 sections - Morning, Afternoon, and Evening.
I give it to tdoc, bi-weekly, so she can go over with my child, the events or moods that have been charted. For the pdoc, I have laid it on the floor, 4-6 weeks, end-to-end, so that he can see the flow of the colors/moods as we change medications.
