ABSTRACT

Objective: The efficacy of mood stabilizers in children and adolescents has not been studied adequately. This article will review existing studies and highlight some important issues in designing future studies on these agents.

Treatment Guidelines for Children and Adolescents with Bipolar Disorder

Treatment guidelines, developed by expert consensus and a review of literature about the diagnosis and treatment of pediatric bipolar disorders, are presented. The four sections of these guidelines include diagnosis, comorbidity, acute treatment, and maintenance treatment.
