Hi everyone.  Say "hello" to Flipswitch's newest friend, Sam!  She will be live tweeting the Active Minds' 8th National Mental Health on Campus Conference from November 18-20 (Friday through Sunday) at the University of Maryland, College Park.  Follow her on Twitter:  @Flipswitchteens and @thebalancedmind.  Some speakers include: singer/songwriter Meg Hutchinson, WNBA player Chamique Holdsclaw, & Thomas Insel, Dir. of Natn'l Inst. of Mental Health!  Sam is a bright 20-yo college senior at St. Mary's College of Maryland.  Sam has a major in Psychology and a minor in Spanish.  In fact, she studied abroad last year in Costa Rica where she met actor Andrew McCarthy (think: Pretty in Pink, St. Elmo's Fire), who apparently is now a travel writer.  He serenaded her on her birthday...well, actually he and a table full of people sang her happy birthday.  Sam has a passion for mental health advocacy; she is especially intrested in learning about comorbidity (when a person has 2 or more illnesses).  She volunteers as the Program Leader for students who tutor Math and English in the local GED program.  Sam also loves soccer, singing, cooking, and hiking.  Join us Nov. 18-20 as we vicariously attend the conference with Sam!
