Silver may have lost her dream because of a manic episode. Can anybody relate to Silver? We want to hear from you.
I'll livetweet again next Monday, 05/02/11 8/7CST during 90210 (on the CW Network). Let's continue following Silver's bipolar storyline.
Recap of Last Episode (aired 04/25/11) called "Nerdy Little Secrets"
Wow! This was a meaty episode of 90210, especially for Silver.
--We saw her go from energetic (great dance sequence when she was getting dressed to "Walking on Sunshine") to off-the-walls manic.
--I'm happy it was realistic--the effects of her taking placebos (remember Adrianna swapped her bipolar meds for placebos to exact revenge for Silver "stealing" Navid from Adrianna) didn't happen overnight. (For newcomers to 90210: There is a love triangle in almost every episode.)
--Silver dyed her hair a very loud color of red/orange like she wanted to be the next mascot for McDonald's. Adrianna, of course, said she loved the change. Navid and best friend Naomi didn't like the loud wardrobe but they weren't panicked about Silver's health either. Bad taste--no big deal.
--Silver started getting more and more energy. She talked a little fast. Still no big deal.
--Silver had an interview with an NYU Admissions Officer. Remember Silver is an accomplished student. Her scooter broke down like 30 minutes before the interview! (Murphy's Law, anybody?) So, Silver ran a mile to the interview.
--At first, the admissions officer was disgusted with her tardiness. But when he found out she ran there, he was impressed with her initiative.
--Mr. NYU was wowed by Silver's brains, determination, and encyclopedic knowledge of film. I thought, Wow, the bipolar disorder didn't get in the way even after her bike broke down–something that makes people without mental illnesses lose it.
--Then, it happened! The crash came! Silver was super manic around midnight. She called the admissions officer way too many times talking a mile a minute.
--Silver has probably blown her chances of getting into NYU after a successful interview. After four years of handwork (she won Top English Student) in class and extracurriculars, Silver may have lost her chances of getting into her dream school because she was manic. She couldn't control her impulses.
WHAT DO YOU THINK? LET'S TALK IT OVER
--Can anyone relate to Silver? Have you ever lost something important (in work, school, relationships, whatever) because you were too manic (or too depressed) to think straight? Have you ever done something so impulsive it cost you?
