After 6 years of attending a therepeutic day treatment school program my son will be re-entereing our home school district!  He will be a freshman in 9th grade.  We have a new cyber academy attached to the high school building.  He will attend there and have all his classes on an on-line program.  We think he will be successful with this as his computer is such a big part of his life and he is a whiz on it. 

This past school year of 8th grade was his first year that he hasn't been aggressive in school at all.  I always feared what his teen years would look like.  So far I've been pleasantly surprised!  He has grown into a mature, responsible young man.  These past few weeks I have even been able to leave him at home in charge of his younger brother-something I thought I could never do "just in case".  He has shown how responsible he can be.

It was so wonderful to hear all his teachers and the principal say how far he has come and how much they think he is a great kid.  Our son use to tell us he needed to be in his therepeutic school, now he is ready to move on.  He will be able to socialize more and make more friends plus be with his sister who will be a junior.  He is really growing up well with his illness.  I am so thankful for everything I have gained from The Balanced Mind Foundation,mostly the support which has always encouraged me to keep moving forward.  Our kids always have hope within themselves, we just have to help them let it out :)
