better as in improved not "all better"
Ok I don't know how much time I have to write so here goes. Emily at birth -4 wanted to be held and nursed all the time. She slept in my arms. 2-4 she would act grown up ,,,with grown up worries..she was always easy if constantly held..4 and 5 if clothes didn't feel right she would flip out. 5 she would tear off clothes and looked possessed. 5 she started zipping or tying her shoes every step so she couldn't walk. she didn't speak at preschool. She started pulling out her hair, thinking she was wet all the time..sitting on the potty convinced she had to go..Age 5 grapping me with 2 hands begging..make me normal...dx with ocd and started paxil..helped alot..in 1 and 2rd grade her ocd was ok but she seemed like..neutral..almost like an teenager..not ocd, not crying, not happy..8 yo. rages..violent rages. everyday..over homework . food anything. hallicinated, trying to strangle herself..3 hospital visits where they sedate and released..one where they abused her..12 months later found a bp doc. 8-10 tweaking meds..finding some outside help..learning technignues..finding some stability. Got iep that was first refused. 11..almost 100 healthy for a year but got movement disorder. heartbreaking. had to take her off of the combo that worked. 12 full time sped classes and all kinds of accomadations. (wonderful) started on clonidine (weekly blown draws and side effects that change her personality).11-13 not self injurious behavior..hallucinations down to minutes a year..we have changed are life..home early..sped classes..respite care..8-10 years of age we were all being tormented, scared , abused, and almost hopeless. 11-13 there has been up and downs but never ever as long or severe. Would of never thought I could have a week of peace when we have had almost 2 years. not perfect..meds make her different..where the one that caused td didn't..but she smiles,,has good morals etc..never could of imagined how bad it was or how good it is..
For years every night I believed she may kill herself (because she certainly tried).
Things are so much better.
Her and siblings giggle.

Wow, still going pretty well for a few months. That is great news. You're right though, I don't think any of us imagined we would be going through such horrendous times with our children. At least it makes us appreciate the good times.
