He is home
We were able to pick up our son yesterday. It was such an exciting time. He didn't know so he was so surprised and excited :)
The psychiatrist diagnosed him with BiPolar Disorder Mixed and ADHD
We had about 2 hours before the first tantrum and he had many yesterday but we did a lot of talking with him to help him slow down when he gets upset so we can channel it before he looses total control.
We are looking forward to getting him feeling better.
Thanks

I'm glad he's home now. Usually there's a transition period from phosp or RTC to home, so be gentle with yourself and him for a few days. Will he go to school next week? Do you have any accommodations set up with the school?

Yes he is going to school again starting tomorrow. His teacher is a very good friend and will go easy on him on his missed work etc. We don't have accomodations because he goes to a small private school and he truly has never had any behavioral issues at school. I know this can change but we'll watch him carefully to see if that happens. His teacher is so thrilled to have him back and his friends are also, he is very well liked and is constantly being invited to parties and sleep overs.
He has 2 appts this week and we'll see where they go with his therapy and meds. And after a fun weekend I realized I'm now starting a cold. Fun! :)
Thank you!
