Neurontin?

Anybody use neruontin with any success?  I am wondering if it might help my daughter's moods, as no other mood stabilizers seem to help.

She was taking one at bedtime and we couldn't really tell if it was helpful or not.

She was probably taking a very low dose.  Some people do find that neurontin helps with moods, but they are not very many.  But given how hard your dd is to treat, it may be worth trying.  I think she would need a much higher dose, though.  Have you talked to pdoc about this idea?

Med change seemed to relaly help:like she seemed more stable than in 8 months, started to do her online college class, attteend AA, said she was losing the impulse to steal/break in. (behavior she could not go more than 3 days since August). So enjoyed the baby steps. Yeseterday, Sunday she called me before I went to church at 8 AM. I said I could take he to Aa in a few hours. I had told her I would be ovr at 9 to give her moring meds. She calls meat 9 AM and says she broke into my codo, the glass shattered and she took my laptop to extort a shooping spree at the MAll (demanded 150 dolalrs in gift cards to get my laptop back). I am trying to keep the big picture in mind THe new meds really do seem to be sedating her mania. At one point , she said I jsut can't rage that much onthese meds, makes me too calm. She went nearly 2 weeks without breaking in so that it is huge for her. Still looking at getting her on list for inpatient (Seasons program through FIrst Step of Sarasota). Her p-doc of 3.5 years will write something but she has to saign a consnet and do not even want to deal with that in the moment.  Her behavior analyst and new p-doc have documentation, hope that is enoguh to get her on the list.I want her to help clean upthe broken glass.

She is now off of lexapro, down to 20 abilify and the new meds. One dat at a time Never give up hope!, Sallie
