Looking for recommendation for PDOC or therapist in MD area
Hi all,
I'm relatively new to the group and boards here. My son has a pdoc currently but I don't think we are getting the support that we need and basically think my son sees him once a mth for 30 min just for his medication management...but we need much more. We need therapy for him, for us, just more support, help, eduction, etc in general. So I'm looking for a good recommendation in Md. Preferrably close to the DC metro area. I've looked through the resources list on this site, but I have such a hard time just picking from a list and making a "cold call" silly I know...but it always helps me to have had someone tell me what kind of experience they've had before I make that call.
If anyone has any recommendations for someone in MD...I'll even make the drive...so anywhere is a start!

Hi Tina,
We have been with Spectrum Behavioral Health since this past January. They have offices in Arnold & Annapolis Maryland. My son sees both a physchiatrist and a psychologist there. We haven't gotten to stability yet and we've definitely had some transitions during the change from his previous doctor. But what I like about Spectrum is that their office staff is wonderful, the pdoc returns calls very quickly and there are multiple doctors available. I would highly recommend Dr. Sangeeta Verma (a woman) at Behavioral Health Partners in Frederick, MD, 301-663-8263. Last year we moved to the south for my husband's job and we hated to leave Dr. Verma's care. It had taken us several years to find her and her expertise and we still miss her!
