Hot flashes and twitching muscles

Could hot flashes and muscles twitching inside be withdrawal symptoms?
Daughter stopped Risperdal one month ago and now stopped celexa a couple days ago. Had been on risperdal for years.
Only been on celexa 20 mg. for 3 weeks and 10 mg. for one week. (?) Wondering whether to let this go or call pdoc office today.

Yeah, I think that could be withdrawal. Can't hurt to call the pdoc.

Hi there! Just wanted to weigh in. You should definitely call your pdoc. HOwever, wanted to reassure you that there is something called "discontinuation syndrome" that some people get when stopping an SSRI. Google it and it will give you a list of symptoms. Many people get a feeling of "electric shocks" which sounds like the hot flashes and muscle twitching.
I know I get it terribly if I try to stop my lexapro, and if I miss one dose I even feel quite sick.
Nausea and dizziness or "flu-like" symptoms are also common.
It is not harmful as far as I am aware, but it is miserable. But definitely, defintely you should call your pdoc so you can make sure that's what it is and in case you need to do anything about it--
