Throwing in the towel
Today we took our daughter to crisis AGAIN, as she was super extra manic agitated unreasonable angry belligerent irritable mean irrational etc. etc.
Seems to be getting worse every day on the increse of invega. Well, when we got there, and I was begging them to give her risperdal back again, she REFUSED TO TAKE RISPERDAL and REFUSED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL and I wonder what she thought they could do??? So they did NOTHING. We have an appointment in 3 weeks. The invega is making her worse. They replaced the risperdal with it. If she is going to refuse to go inpatient willingly and refuse to take the only med that ever worked and be hostile during med trials - WHAT AM I TO DO?
There is no sense in trying to take her for help while she is too far gone to be rational and accept help, and there is no way I can keep living with her so angry and mean to me every minute.
I feel like I will have to ignore her until she is violently raging and then call 911 and let them take her to the local hospital, which is not where we are getting services at the moment. No sense in driving further if she/they just send her home with me to continue to worsen!
Ready to quit helping.

Can you call her pdoc and beg to get the Risperdal back? Maybe if you called while your dd was raging it would make a bigger impression.

Could not even get past crisis to doctor. Cannot get to doctor on phone yet, because we have only ever been seen as crisis. Too long to wait for next app. with new doc. We have seen her as walk-in crisis only, and yesterday she refused to see us.

I feel for you today, we are just starting this journey, we had our worst rage ever... hang in there you are not alone
Please consider this, if a person is 18 or older, and is considered a danger to self and others. Then, Crisis is called, the person is put on a 3 day hold and observed.
Then, a JUDGE comes in and that Judge, a Doctor and the Support person (you) determine what will happen next. You don't have to be the support person, one can be appointed.
If you suspect the person to not be taking the prescribed medication as the pdoc has recommended and is harmful to self and others - Crisis must be called.
Yes, doctors can be influenced until a Judge is involved.
To me it is that simple. To be free is everything, so we comply.

Depends on the city. In ours, the scenario may go like: 911 is called, the young adult is taken to the hospital and released 3 hours later in a cab. They don't come home and the next day the parents find their child on TV news... involved in some altercation or other and in jail. Or... Crisis is called, the young adult (or minor even!) knows the system and the correct response to give "No, I wasn't really suicidal. I was just being manipulative." and is not detained.
Here is an example:
Insanity - the Definition of Kentucky's Mental Health Laws at Work
Worst of all though is when the cops convince the parents they MUST press charges to get their child help. Then the child goes to jail, has a criminal record, and STILL does not get treatment.

Older dd: formerly(?) teen-onset bipolar (morphed into ultradian cycling): "Recovered" after over 13 years - stable off psych meds almost two years. Now fine on just diet changes and higher thyroid levels (after healing - addressing gut issues/Candidal overgrowth while using EMPowerPlus and other supplements). She added a little EMpowerPlus back on as a multivitamin simply because she feels better on it - gets sick less often.
Younger dd: formerly(?) Childhood-onset schizoaffective, TS, OCD, anxiety, PTSD, migraines. After over 15 years, is now "recovered" for almost 5 years after treating endocrine issues, food sensitivities, gut issues, sleep issues, nutritional/mitochondrial needs.
Stopped Vistaril last night and the edge seems to be gone off the killing meanness.

pilgrim, have you thought about getting guardianship of your dd? It doesn't seem like she is able to be responsible for herself at this time, and your hands are tied in helping her.

I don't think we can get guardianship without having her court-certified incompetent, and from what I understand, that is very hard to do.
So we just have a legal and medical Power of Attorney, but everybody prefers to ignore that. I would really have to get nasty to insist they honor it, as they tell me it doesn't hold water in the mental health world. Huh! Wonder what good it is?

I think it may be worth a shot to get her declared incompetent by a judge. She has certainly been disabled most of her life and that doesn't look like it's improving at this point. Just a thought.
