I just joined website. My daughter 11 has a mood disorder. Was diagnosed about a year ago and has been taking meds. Have been in the process trying to help her for about 4 years. Took her for neuropsych. testing, to a pediatric neurologist and therapist. Took a long time to get any results. Was ok for the 6-8 months. Her meds don't seem to be working. Abilify 5 mg and Zoloft 50 mg. Has threatended and tried to act on suicidal threats. Want to get second  opinion. Insurance does not allow out of network. Therapist has recommended going to a hospital associated with a university. Live on the east coast in northeast pa and willing to travel. It is expensive for 2 hr psychiatric evaluation if out of network. Willing to pay if I could get some satisfaction.

Has anyone been to any northeast area of us facilities that specialize in children for psych. evaluation? Any advice would be appreciated. At my breaking point.

Not sure if her diagnosis is right. Irritable, hard to get to school in morning, hard to motivate to do homework/studying, different kid summer than school year.Aggressive. Everything is usually ok at school but loses it when she comes home and mom gets brunt of aggresiveness and defiance.

Any suggestions would be great.
