Anyone from the Bucks County area? Any suggestions where to bring child for evaluation? New to forum with 11yo daughter
I am new here. Have a beautiful 11 year old daughter with a great heart. She has had "issues" since she was about 3 or 4. She was very shy and clingy, but i just thought that was her way. Then every once in a while she would get in a mood and nothing would change it ... I was the only one that could calm her down eventually. I learned to let her have some space and then see if she needed me ... everyone else (her father, my overly nervous mother-in-law) would try to figure it out right at that moment ... does she need this, does she need that, on and on ... it made me crazy! Around the age of 3 or 4 she had separation anxiety, I couldn't leave the room for more than 5 mins without her starting to yell "Mommy". She doesn't have any "real" problems at school, seems to be a loner but is sweet and lovable ... just not as outgoing as the other kids or my younger daughter. Now her "episodes" seem to be more about moodiness and she has become violent and destructive ... need advice....anyone?
Through the AACAP physician finder I found these 2 providers in Allentown, PA. And I found this one in Trenton, NJ. Hopefully those links will work. If not, go to the AACAP website and do the "Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist Finder" (link is on the left side of the page).
