Update-Seizures??

So, I posted a few days ago about being on the EMP for two weeks now and the positive results so far.  I was SUPER excited to get some of the tests (hormone, sleep, ec.) scheduled so that we can rule those things out.

In my post, I mentioned that the new pdoc wondered if we there had been any testing done to see if she is having seizures.  The way my husband described my dd at times, it made the pdoc think she was having absence seizures (?).  To us, it looked like she was "spacing out"...and then she'd shake her head and look confused for a min.  I thought it was weird...but half of what she does IS weird!

Anyway, she had a seizure...full seizure the other night.  On the ground, flopping around, wet pants, etc.  Went to ER and everything else came back completely normal.  She just called and said like she felt like it was getting ready to happen again.

We have only gotten rid of the trazadone (for sleep) and it's been a few weeks.  Everything else has been the same.  Is it possible EMP or the aminos could cause this??

I called them and they reduced her to one EMP a day and one amino a day.

She is also have to pee a LOT now that she is on EMP...is that normal?

We have an apointment with her pediatrician this afternoon.

******EDITED to add:  I just read where trazodone should NOT BE USED by anyone that has heart problems or a prolonged QT (heart rythmn) because it can make it worse and lead to seizures!!!!!!!  I guess I didn't do good enough research before giving it to her.  :(  Although glad to hear that it probably isn't because of the EMP...I didn't want to have to discontinue it.

My older daughter had several seizures from Wellbutrin. She was put on Dilantin for about a year, taken off, and has never had another seizure.

Older dd: formerly(?) teen-onset bipolar (morphed into ultradian cycling): "Recovered" after over 13 years - stable off psych meds almost two years. Now fine on just diet changes and higher thyroid levels (after healing - addressing gut issues/Candidal overgrowth while using EMPowerPlus and other supplements). She added a little EMpowerPlus back on as a multivitamin simply because she feels better on it - gets sick less often.
Younger dd: formerly(?) Childhood-onset schizoaffective, TS, OCD, anxiety, PTSD, migraines. After over 15 years, is now "recovered" for almost 5 years after treating endocrine issues, food sensitivities, gut issues, sleep issues, nutritional/mitochondrial needs.

I hope the weekend was good.   It sounds to me like True Hope doesn't know what to do, and of course neither do we.  I hope with this you are making plans for a full blown neurological evaluation.  You're case is certainly unique and you may need to puzzle this out one bit at a time like Naomi did with her daughters.  If you haven't, I would read her book.  It is a good inspiration and may give you good ideas, but it sounds like your daughters solution will be unique to her.  When you get to the neurologist, you could speak to him about diets.  The GAPS book would be a good read.  She discusses epilipsy, but I don't know about actually following that with the heart condition.

Best of luck,

Brian

Brian,

Thank you for your support.  We did have a good weekend.  The one good thing is that Taylor's mood is AWESOME.  Best it's been in about 5 years...hope it continues.

Several blood tests were done Friday evening.  (Did I mention that she did have a urinary tract infection?)  What's one more thing!  :)  We are being scheduled for a visit to the neurologist.

I have read Naomi's book...it was wonderful.

TH doesn't know, but I know they aren't specialist either.  It's just frustrating because I finally felt like we were getting somewhere and now a whole new crop of problems are popping up.  She's down to one EMP and one amino a day.  UGH!

Woke up this morning with a bad headache and had wet the bed!  She's almost 17!!!!!  Don't know if that had to do with the urinary tract infection and she didn't wake up or if she had another seizure in her sleep.  (Wet her pants last time she had a seizure).  She's been SUPER tired lately too.  I thought it might be from the EMP and the meds together, but TH said she should be fine and leave everything as is.

I'll keep y'all posted!

Hmm, I do not see how one cap a day is going to do anything.  When is your appt with neuro?  She could have had another seizure, or it could be her UTI and she is sleeping so soundly.  I know when I have a UTI I am very tired, so that could be the issue.  One cap per day with antibiodics is not enough either, you should double it and add some yeast treatment as soon as she is off them.

Haven't heard about the appointment with neuro yet.  We do a follow up on Wed. to get labs, etc. so I suppose we'll hear something then.

She does sleep VERY soundly, so it very well may be that she just slept through it.  She says she feel all better now.

I agree about the EMP.  One tablet??  She was taking four EMP and up to 12 (although she only ever took 9) aminos.  Now she is taking one of each.  HATE that she is on antibiotics, but it was only for five days.
