Me-bp, Geodon, Lamictal, Buspurone, Ativan, Ambien - True Hope and other supplements
Husband(bdk), melatonin, True Hope supplements, glaucoma
Daughter (7) bp, Risperdal 0.625mg, Lithium 200mg, Intuniv 1mg - True Hope and other supplements
Son (5) potty training issues
I hear a lot about it helping kids with autism. Not really sure on BP. Thing that turns me off is no grains and too much soup. Have you tried going gluten free?

The way my kids and I eat is like "GAPS" in that we all had intestinal issues, immune stuff and two with psychiatric symptoms. It is the way we must eat to heal our intestines, body, and brain. We all are gluten-dairy, soy-free, and in fact, while trying to get rid of candida, we were all grain-free. Now, my older daughter remains grain-free, and I was just formally diagnosed with systemic candida (I "knew" I've had it for some yeats now), and will again be off all grains. I need low carb andd of course no added sugars. And organic as much as possible, especially with thin-skinned fruits like blueberries.
The probiotics are equally important during this time.
As for what to eat, you can get lots of ideas from "Paleo" diets, "Whole foods," as well as the autism diets that are gluten and dairy free. Hmmm... Let's see... I know I have a lot of sites I've linked to, and books listed... Healing Young Brains - Take Home Points from a 2011 Medical Conference talked about this as well...
Following the Gut and Psychology Syndrome book leads to other books...
Here is a link to Living Without, a Magazine website with recipes for people with various food allergies.
I do make a lot of soups just because they are always different and easy and chock-ful of all kinds of veggies and some meats. I can freeze some. Some are chicken with curry (not spicy), or some dill flavor. Some are beef and kale and onions and tomatos... some are with turkey, some mostly beans... Some beans and beef... Some soups even with fish or crab and coconut milk. Soups like my mom and grandmother used to make, only some are even thicker full of food.
My older daughter doesn't like the broth of soups but will eat the beef/veggie stuff with the broth poured back into the pot from the ladle. I make it so thick we call it "stoup" (stew/soup).
But we also eat plenty that is not soup. Og course, I don't know that we eat exactly what is called "The GAPS diet" but it is makes sense to us, meets our dietary and nutritional needs at the same time as keeping us happy and in compliance with our medical needs (such as healing the gut).

Older dd: formerly(?) teen-onset bipolar (morphed into ultradian cycling): "Recovered" after over 13 years - stable off psych meds almost two years. Now fine on just diet changes and higher thyroid levels (after healing - addressing gut issues/Candidal overgrowth while using EMPowerPlus and other supplements). She added a little EMpowerPlus back on as a multivitamin simply because she feels better on it - gets sick less often.
Younger dd: formerly(?) Childhood-onset schizoaffective, TS, OCD, anxiety, PTSD, migraines. After over 15 years, is now "recovered" for almost 5 years after treating endocrine issues, food sensitivities, gut issues, sleep issues, nutritional/mitochondrial needs.
