Anxiety?

So, Taylor has been doing really well for about two weeks now.  She JUST started the EMPower on Monday (today was the fourth day).

Since she just started, she has not had any decreases in her medication.  However, since she was doing so well...I have taken her off the trazadone for sleeping.  (Been sleeping fine by herself).  I didn't even think of withdraw from it.  (Is there any?)  I just thought...she's sleeping well, let's try it without the traz.

Tonight she was having symptoms (Just like when her anxiety is HIGH!)  Tingly arms, heaviness in chest, dizzy...all the same as her anxiety.  She is CONVINCED that she feels great..it's not anxiety.

Could it be withdraw from the traz?

Yes it could be.  When we were cutting the Intuniv, which is granted a different drug, she had her first happy manias that we had seen without the rages.  And it started a 2-3 days after cutting the dose.

Also, I'm no doctor, but BP and taking Zoloft without a mood stabilizer seems just plain wrong.

Best of luck  and keep it up.

I agree, Brian.  In fact, I'm convinced that's why she ended up in the phosp. two weeks ago.  Her doctor would NOT listen to me and just kept increasing the Zoloft.  (I'm an idiot and kept doing it).  She just keep sinking worse and worse into the depression.

She was on 200 of the Zoloft a few weeks ago.  The pdoc in the phosp cut her down to 150 mg.  We've stayed there.  She's been doing pretty good since.

I know everyone says it gets worse before it gets better.  I'm trying to tell myself that we can get through this.  How long can I expect the withdraw symptoms to last?  I know the drugs stay in your system for a long time...but what about the worst of the symptoms?

I'm always terrified that I am rocking the boat.  She's been doing so well these past few weeks!  What if taking her off her meds is going to make her worse and we can't get her back?

Supposed to call TH today for an update and advice on what to do next.

BTW...we did find a new pdoc!!

Is the new pdoc willing to try the EMP?

Get some protein shakes for the withdrawal.  Withdrawal can last a long time.  3 aminos up to every hour seems to help as well if you do not have a protein shake available.  The protein sticks to the meds in the system and assists the body in eliminating it.  Sure TH is telling you the same thing.

Dont meet with her until Tuesday...doubt it.  :(  However, I don't plan on starting any new meds at this time.  I guess she'll HAVE to work with us or we will be finding someone else.

Have you yet found an integrative doctor?   I think the Zoloft is best when reduced slowly.

Not yet...embarrassed to say that.  Kim did some research for me and sent me some names of drs. in the state, but with everything going on and work...I haven't called yet.  :(

We're doing okay right now.  Taylor's attitude is really stronger than I've seen it for a long time.  It is so much more positive.  Let's hope it sticks around!
