Daylight Savings Time Pet Peeve
I have never liked DLS, but at least it used to end before Halloween. That way it got dark by 6 or so, and you could take your kids trick or treating at night, like you're supposed to do. Then last year, was it, or the year before, the powers that be extended DLS to right after Halloween. Obviously these people don't have young kids, who can't wait until 8PM for it to get dark! My kids are almost grown out of trick or treating, but it still irks me.
Does this bother anyone else?

Day light savings time bothers me period. I like it getting darker earlier. And when my kids were younger it was hard to get them to go to bed at a decent bedtime when it was still light outside. You still have to get up and go to work and school.
I don't really care about the Halloween part, I never have liked Halloween. Even as a child I didn't like trick or treating. Just me.

Yeah, the getting them to bed thing is huge. Although I guess if I lived in Scotland or someplace north I would have to deal with really long days anyway :-)
Good thing I live down south.

i was dispointed as well when i saw on the calender the time wasn't changing till after halloween. wasn't it always b4 halloween.?? now my little guy
will have to be up even later to trick-or-treat, and be hyped on the candy before bedtime, then school the next morning...!
Our neighborhood association does a big hot-dog cookout for Halloween every year. All the kids(and families) gather in one spot, then "parade" to a field, which is actually just someone's empty lot, and eat and socialize before heading out to trick or treat. Occasionally they will decide to change the date due to school factors, so this year we're having Halloween on Saturday, Oct. 30. That way we can let the younger kids stay up til it's dark, and we don't have to worry about getting them up for school the next day. My kids are glad, even though they're not all trick or treating this year.

I hate daylight savings time. Throws off my sleep schedule completely.
